I found this project somewhere online (I can't remember where!) but the idea of doing Mona Lisa a a cat seems to have been floating around for a while.
We started by talking about the Mona Lisa - what was special/unique about it, why it was so famous, etc. Then, I told them that we would be recreating it, using cats! They were really worried that they wouldn't be able to do it, but once we started the group draw, it all seemed to come together.
When they were done, they colored them in with pencil crayons, and then we framed them using Melissa and Doug photo frames.
